Breakfast of champions
BT was the headline sponsor of the recent BRC London 2012 Breakfast Briefing which focused on the impact and opportunities for UK Retail that the Games present. The briefing was attended by a number of leading retailers, including John Lewis, Sainsbury's, Home Retail Group, ASDA and WH Smith.
The breakfast briefing explored the fact that it's been forecast that London 2012 will generate an extra £521m for the Retail sector, with 70 per cent of visitors to the Olympics Park expected to pass through the new Stratford City shopping centre.

The meeting started with an introduction from Luke Mayhew, BRC Chairman, who described how retailers can best prepare for the impact of London 2012, and its importance to the sector. This was followed by a unique insight from Chris Townsend, London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) Commercial Director who explained how businesses can leverage the enormous brand and revenue opportunities that the Games has to offer.
Stuart Hill, Programme Director, BT London 2012 and Diane McAuliffe, Director of Retail and Professional Services, shared what BT is proudly doing to deliver the Games and how it is gaining insight for its retail customers to enable them to become more scalable, secure and sustainable during the build up to the biggest show on earth.
